The Center for African American Poetry and Poetics is an important repository for all things related to African American and African diasporic poetry. In collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh’s University Library System (ULS), our goal is to create one of the most comprehensive archives of African American poetry resources in the country.

A collection of works created and performed at CAAPP will be established and put into a permanent library. We are also working with the ULS staff to collect the books of all writers and artists who visit the Center. In addition, we record all of the readings, presentations, and symposia hosted by CAAPP, and these video and audio recordings are available to the public.
